Dr. Bournias is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, education, and professional leadership. A proud alumnus of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors, Dr. Bournias completed his undergraduate studies at Oakland University before earning his dental degree in 1990. He then completed an intensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit in 1994.

In addition to managing a thriving private practice, Dr. Bournias serves as an Associate Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and is a dedicated member of their Craniofacial Team. He is the former Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak and has made lasting contributions to surgical education and public health through multiple leadership roles.

Dr. Bournias has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1996. He has served as a Specialty Board Examiner for the State of Michigan and spent seven years on the Examination Committee for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His dedication to advancing the profession includes roles on the Michigan Board of Dentistry and Michigan Dental Association Insurance Financial Group.

A former Co-Chair of the Cleft Lip and Palate Clinic at Hurley-Mott Hospital in Flint, Dr. Bournias continues to be actively involved in
shaping healthcare policy and risk management. He has served in several key roles with OMSNIC and Fortress Insurance Company,
including Director, Committee Member, and currently as Treasurer. He is also a Director at The River Agency.

Dr. Bournias combines clinical excellence with a deep commitment to education, leadership, and compassionate patient care—earning
the trust of both his colleagues and the many patients whose lives he has impacted.
